Stories from Catalyst
Every woman enters Catalyst with a different calling, career, season, and goal.
Hear directly from the women inside Catalyst about the clarity they gained, the courage they found, the work they accomplished, and the relationships that helped them move forward.
Before joining Catalyst, I worried that I wasn’t qualified to be there. Instead, I found women just like me who were serious about growing and doing something with their ideas. Catalyst has helped me stop waiting for permission and stop overthinking myself into inaction. I’ve grown my Instagram platform significantly, built deep work into my week, and started giving my creative work more structure. I don’t think I would have had the courage to start showing up online the way I am now without Catalyst.

Having a group of gals who immediately clicked so well, and we were praying for each other and pretty vulnerable right off the bat, that was really affirming and confirming. I just was like, okay, I found my place. I found my people. And I'm so grateful. That's hard to find for a lot of us who can be an island unto ourselves sometimes. Even though we have great local community and family and friends, there's nothing like being in a circle who shares the similar stage, age, and even season of business.

Catalyst has given me my own cheering section for the projects that feel daunting. The women in my Circle encourage me and help me stay accountable through our weekly check-ins. I’ve gotten better at setting goals, focusing on what matters most, and recognizing what needs to come off my plate. Between Alli’s wisdom and the quality of the women in this group, I feel less alone in the work I’m doing.

I think that has been one of the biggest takeaways for me, is that I don't have to burn down my health. I don't have to burn down my family. I don't have to burn down my marriage in order to actually have a successful business.

The monthly calls, super helpful, but very brief time commitment, 45 minutes. It's more really you get more intentional use of your time because of Catalyst. So you're accomplishing more meaningful things, not just, ‘Oh, I'm adding something else to my to-do list.

I would say to the woman who feels like you don't have time to do Catalyst, I was there. I was that woman. I don't have time. I'm trying to do all these things God has called me to do. I don't have time for one more thing. … Through the decision-making filters, through the weekly planning filters, through the boundary filters, I've been able to set goals with the help of those filters and at the same time create white space in my calendar. … I actually feel like I have more time now through those trainings and the filters.

The women in Catalyst share the same core values and truly want to see each other succeed. They celebrate your wins and cheer you on, but they’ll also lovingly call you out when you’re overthinking or getting in your own way. You need people who believe in you and people who will hold you accountable to actually do the things you say you want to do.

I was hesitant to join Catalyst because I've signed up for many mastermind groups and online strategy groups that profess to be a minimal commitment, and then it's just an overload of stuff. I still didn't want my day being preoccupied with Catalyst because I'm trying to launch my own coaching business. But it has not turned out to be a tremendous amount of work. Everything she gives us has a purpose. There's a reason for what we're doing and why she builds it out the way she does each month. Even though I'm questioning quite a few things right now, I still have this foundation through Catalyst that keeps me moving forward. It keeps me focused and pursuing one direction instead of a million different ones.

It's easy to think, ‘I'm not really ready yet. Maybe I'll just wait another year.’ What I can tell you is you will get something out of it in the very first month. You will learn something. You will discover something about yourself that you didn't know. Being in Catalyst helped me make a specific decision in January that had been on my radar for four years: I launched a podcast. It's me talking about things I've learned in my journey with the hope that it will help another woman. I don't know if I would have even started the podcast if it hadn't been for Catalyst. I'm so glad that I did it.

What I can say about my circle that we love each other. We meet once a week. We've always met once a week. I know we had the option of doing it every other week, but we look forward to it. … We encourage each other. We help each other. I feel like I'm not alone. … And I feel that's what makes Catalyst different. You're not doing it alone. You're not a little fish in a big pond. You are with people who care about you, who know what you're doing, and who walk alongside you. I love that part of it.

I joined Catalyst because Alli said we already have enough knowledge. What we need is implementation. The retreat felt like implementation I needed to embrace. I was nervous and excited, unsure of what would happen but excited about what God would do. What I understand now is that God has things for me to do now that I thought were further out in the future. Alli is very generous with sharing her knowledge. Her passion is to see women succeed. I kind of knew that already, but I REALLY know it now. Since leaving, I've been excited to figure out how to put the things God showed me into action.

Catalyst gave me permission to slow down without guilt and really look at where I was going. I had been grinding and spinning my wheels, and Catalyst helped me reassess, realign, and refocus on what actually mattered. I learned what to leave behind, what to take up, and when to do each. That clarity gave me the confidence to move forward and even leave a path I thought I should take for the one I actually needed.
The honest conversations with Alli and the women in my Catalyst Circle have been incredibly valuable, and I love having a group of women who are eager to engage, encourage, and help each other.
I also keep coming back to the Catalyst resources over and over as my business grows. This isn’t something you go through once and forget. Catalyst continues to meet me where I am and help me figure out what my next step should be.

Catalyst has given me more clarity and confidence in what I’m building, but I’ve also become more willing to take action before I have everything perfectly figured out. Catalyst has given me a place to learn, try things, ask questions, change direction when I need to, and keep moving forward.

To the woman who thinks that Catalyst isn't for her because she doesn't have her own business, I'd say first of all, neither do I. I work for a technology company. … I've found that a lot of the confidence building, the accountability, the pursuing goals each week, that is relevant to whether you own your own business or whether you work in a corporation. Those are all relevant skills to have and to build together.

Before Catalyst, I really didn't have the confidence that I needed to start my business. I felt like I didn't know what I was doing. There was a lot of impostor syndrome, and I didn't even know where to start. Catalyst gave me a starting point and things to work toward so that every month I could see my progress. I had written my website for most of a year, perfecting, perfecting, perfecting. When I started Catalyst, I was like, ‘Okay, I'm just going to take a deep breath and I'm going to go live.’ Catalyst has helped me to do things scared. I realized I was always afraid to make mistakes, that everything had to be perfect all the time. Perfection is really a prison, and Catalyst is helping me to break out of that prison.

Through Catalyst, I’ve organized my days better, adopted healthier habits, stopped people-pleasing, and learned to focus on the goals that matter most in this season of my life. My workdays are more productive and balanced, I’m more present with God and my family, and I finally have time to chase a dream I’ve put off for decades. Catalyst has helped me dig deep and decide what kind of woman I want to become.

My biggest concern about joining Catalyst was the time commitment. It helped me realize I had the time; I needed to adjust where I was spending it.
Before Catalyst, I would set things aside for months. Now I know how to manage and protect my time, and I’m making progress on my health and writing goals while homeschooling, even during chaotic weeks.
A single 15-minute training and a custom tool can save me hours of wasted time. I’m making progress in several areas of my life without sacrificing the things that matter most.
